Graduated from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a minor in Business. She served as an Associate Roadway and Highway Design Engineer in Boston, MA for a global company called Parsons.

Hands on experience in developing project plans and providing designs and cost estimates for highway construction, repair, and renovation projects there. She also worked for the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for a short time. She believes that the country's infrastructure is critical to its economic development.
